Denzel Washington had never partnered with a brand or appeared in a sequel before Equalizer 2. The film featured his character Robert McCall, a retired CIA black ops operative, Lyft driving by day and seeking justice by night. The partnership included early screenings for Lyft drivers across the country, driving sign ups and positive brand perceptions. The Lyft brand was featured throughout the trailer that dropped during NBA finals.
